Exploring a possible X-Force movie

*The following contains spoilers for X-Men: Apocalypse
Olivia Munn as Psylocke is one of the latest mutants to join the X-Men movie franchise. Her recent appearance in the new X-Men: Apocalypse captivated the eyes of many who were waiting for the telekinetic and telepathic ninja to make her debut on the big screen.
Munn’s performance as Psylocke was definitely one of the best aspects of X-Men: Apocalypse, but many fans were saddened to see how little time she had on screen overall. Psylocke was definitely my favorite character from the movie and I was also hoping for her to have a much greater role, but as it’s looking to be, due to Munn's positive fan and critical reception as Psylocke, we will see her again, hopefully soon!
This year has being a total success so far for 20th Century Fox‘s X-Men franchise with Deadpool dominating the box office since its release last February, and X-Men: Apocalypse already receiving positive reviews.

The future of the X-Men films are looking splendid and Olivia Munn wants to team up with the merch-with-a-mouth himself. In a recent interview with USA Today while promoting X-Men: Apocalypse, Olivia Munn said regarding a possible X-Force movie:
An X-Force movie is possible. The third and last Wolverine movie is set to release next year, and even though Hugh Jackman has said that this could possibly be his last X-Men movie he’ll appear in, I don’t think that will be the case.
“That would be a really cool thing to do. What [Ryan Reynolds] did with Deadpool was genius and I’m so excited for him. It would definitely be cool to see Deadpool and some of the other X-Men characters gather for an X-Force movie. I think that’s what the whole world is coming to — everybody unites together, right? It’s never just one character anymore. We all just become one movie.”

As Munn said, presently the superhero movie genre is aiming towards movies were a large group of characters appear, as we saw recently in Captain America: Civil War, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and X-Men: Apocalypse, as well as in Deadpool, who had notable X-Men characters present, despite its low budget.
These films have done extremely well in the box office, and with such great earnings for Fox, having Hugh Jackman back at least one more time would highly benefit them, as the prospects for a box office super hit having Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, together in an X-Force movie, are off-the-charts. Of course joining that team would be Olivia Munn reprising her role as Psylocke, as I know most would agree, she is more than perfect in that role.
With a possible X-Force movie, we already have three characters that could form part of the team, those being Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, and Olivia Munn’s Psylocke. Who could be at least two more that could join that all-star formation?
Being that Deadpool is set in the present and Psylocke was introduced during X-Men: Apocalypse, which was set in the 80s, it’s quite possible we could see Deadpool time travel, possibly to the 90s, which is where the X-Men series is heading. Of course, one way Deadpool can achieve this is by the means of Cable, who we will see in the Deadpool sequel.
If that could possibly happen then Psylocke, Wolverine, and Deadpool can definitely meet, and we can add X-23 to the mix as well.
At the end of X-Men: Apocalypse, the end-credit scene introduced us to a new adversary, the Essex Corporation. Home to the supervillain Nathaniel Essex a.k.a. Mister Sinister, we saw in the scene how men in black suits were cleaning up the bloody mess left by Wolverine at Stryker's Island, as well as them collecting Wolverine’s Weapon X blood samples.
Mister Sinister is a geneticist who is known to experiment on mutants. This could lead to the creation of Wolverine’s clone daughter X-23, possibly being introduced in the next X-Men installment.
X-23 is also a way for Fox to maintain the Wolverine mantle alive in the movies if Hugh Jackman does in fact decide not to return after Wolverine 3.
So with Deadpool, Wolverine, Psylocke, Cable, and X-23, what could be some possible ways that that team can come together?
As I mentioned before, Cable’s means of time travel is the best bet, as we could see the first X-Force member from the comics go back in time and recruit Psylocke, Wolverine, Deadpool, and X-23 to stop a menacing villain from Cable’s future.

Other possible members include Colossus, Archangel, and Cyclops. Through the means of Cable’s time travel is a way they could possibly be best recruited. Seeing how the Colossus character was portrayed in the Deadpool movie (with high moral values and heroism) I doubt he could form part of the X-Force team since they take a more “intense” approach than the X-Men in taking down bad guys.
Archangel supposedly died in X-Men: Apocalypse after his deadly X-Jet collision in Egypt, but of course he could possibly return.
Of course Fox doesn’t have to form the X-Force team out of the X-Men characters that have already been introduced to the franchise, so we could also see the big screen debut of original X-Force comic book members Cannonball, Domino, and Warpath to name a few.
As of now, what’s next in the X-Men franchise is Channing Tatum’s solo Gambit movie, the third Wolverine movie, the Deadpool sequel, as well as a New Mutants movie. Hopefully an X-Force movie is something Fox is planning to create, and with Bryan Singer hinting that his next X-Men film might be set in space, what best team to send to the cosmos than the deadly mutant combination of X-Force (or a team up consisting of the X-Men, the Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, but that’s another theory…).
